About Albany Green Energy

Albany Green Energy (AGE), located in Albany, Georgia, utilizes biomass fuel to generate steam and power. The facility commenced commercial operation in July 2017 and was acquired in June 2021 by ReGenerate. The 50 MW facility uses woody biomass from mill residue, forestry waste, recycling and agricultural waste that is sourced within a 75-mile radius of the facility.

In addition to its renewable electricity, it generates 425,000 pounds-per-hour of process steam. It provides electricity to Georgia Power, process steam to the nearby Procter & Gamble paper products facility, and process steam that is used to generate electricity for the nearby U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base.
